Alex has finished her medical school at the Otago University in 2002.  She undertook her general surgery training in New Zealand and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.

Alex undertook two years of post-fellowship training specialising in Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology (Breast) at the Royal North Shore and Hornsby hospitals in Sydney.

Alex sees her private patients in her clinics in Wellington, Waikanae and Lower Hutt (see below for locations).  She operates at Wakefield hospital. 

Alex works at the Wellington Regional hospital only as a Locum Breast Surgeon (with limited clinics and operating lists).

When not working, Alex loves spending time with her family in Auckland, especially with her niece and nephews.  She also plays tennis, loves to cook and practices yoga and meditation.
